(1) Seat guide kit
This
is the later version which uses the rubber center guide as opposed to
the earlier plastic. This kit was used on most post 1980 VW listed
below, however I have seen some earlier cars which came equipped without
the cutout in the center bracket for this much better later rubber
bushing. So stop those seats from rocking with these original parts, they
are not the cheap aftermarket sets that wont even slide onto the tracks
properly like others sell. These are the real deal.
If
you are not sure which you have or if your seat will allow for the
later rubber center bushing, have a look at the center bracket by
getting on your knees and checking underneath the seat (near the release
lever). You will see the center rail which can be slid out of the
bracket by removing the nut and bolt at the very front of the center
guide, this is all that holds the seat in the car. With the nut and bolt
removed slide the seat rail back by lifting release lever. Look at the
top of this center rail if there is small rounded rectangular cut out
you can use the later version which last longer and is quieter, no
cutout then this is the seat guide kit you need.
